At Virginia State in the match-opening doubles competition, Pinyol and Shulman won at No. 1, 8-2. Allgurin and Moomau won at No. 2, 8-2. Hill and Law won at No. 3, 8-2. In singles, Pinyol won at No, 1, 6-1, 6-1. Allgurin won at No. 2, 6-1, 6-0. Shulman won at No. 3, 7-6 (5), retired. Moomau won at No. 4, 6-0, 6-1. Hill won at No. 5, 6-1, 6-1. Law won at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1.
“We played a well coached team today in Virginia State,” said second-year head coach
Jakob Gustafsson. “I was happy to see us execute the things we wanted today and to get our momentum rolling for the next few matches. If we can continue to play and execute like today, then I really feel like we can get a good winning streak going.”
