FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University dropped a 5-2 Big South Conference women's tennis decision to visiting Campbell University on Saturday evening at the Lancer Courts in Farmville. The Lancers (2-10, 0-5 Big South) received wins in singles from seniors
Marta Pinyol/Barcelona, Spain at No. 1 (7-6 [2], 6-3) and
Hannah Hill/Portsmouth at No. 5 (7-6 [9], 6-7 [3], 11-9) against the Fighting Camels (5-10, 3-2 Big South). Campbell had wins in singles from Tamara Stanic at No. 2, Ana Maria Ortiz at No. 3, Natasha Afridi at No. 4 and Lourdes Ros at No. 6. Longwood was scheduled to host Big South opponent Presbyterian College on Sunday, March 24, but that contest has been postponed due to expected wet weather in Farmville. The Lancers will play at Division II opponent Virginia State University on Tuesday, March 26 at 2 p.m. in Petersburg.
