Longwood will host Norfolk State University of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Wednesday, March 13 at Bolding Stadium in Farmville beginning at 4 p.m.
In the first, Nick Lustrino (1-5) doubled with one out for Temple, followed by a walk to Derek Peterson (1-4), and both runners advanced with stolen bases. Henry Knabe (1-4, 2 RBI) promptly hit a two-run single and later scored on a two-out, RBI single from D'Agostino (3-4, 2 RBI) for a 3-0 lead.
In the second, Burkett (2-4) singled to lead-off for Longwood, moved to second on a walk to sophomore
Brandon Delk/Newport News (1-4) before a one-out walk to senior
Justin Lacy/Glen Allen (1-4, RBI) loaded the bases. Cassidy (2-4, 3 RBI) came through with a clutch two-run single down the left field line to score both Burkett and Delk, and Lacy scored unearned with two outs courtesy a throwing error to tie it at 3-3.
In the fourth, D'Agostino doubled to lead-off for the Owls and scored on an RBI single from Andrew Nist (2-4, 2 RBI) for a 4-3 advantage.

Blake Ream/Yorktown (1-3, RBI) hit a two-out solo home run to left field, his first career homer in college, to tie it at 4-4. The hosts secured the win in the fifth as Burkett singled with two outs, moved to second on a passed ball and scored courtesy another throwing error that allowed Delk to reach base. Delk scored on a run-scoring single by freshman
Kyri Washington/Prospect (1-4, RBI), who scored from first on an RBI double by Lacy to make it 7-4. LU added a run in the sixth to lead 8-4 when Burnette reached on a one-out single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from freshman
C.J. Roth/Yorktown (0-4), and scored on an RBI single from junior
Alex Owens/Purcellville (1-4, RBI). In the seventh, Washington was hit by a pitch to lead off, stole both second and third before scoring on a one-out RBI single by Cassidy for a 9-4 advantage.
Temple added two final runs in the eighth to provide for the final three-run margin. Peterson singled to lead-off, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Knabe and scored on an RBI single by D'Agostino. Matt Elko (0-1), who had reached on an error, also scored unearned on a run-scoring single from Nist.
Freshman
Dylan Caruso/Appomattox started for Longwood and pitched the first 4.0 innings, allowing six hits and four runs, all earned, with two walks and two strikeouts. Wislocki (1-0) tossed the 3.0 shutout innings of middle relief for the Lancers, yielding no hits with no walks and no strikeouts for the mound win.
Dan Moller started for Temple and pitched the first 3.0 innings, scattering two hits and three runs, two earned, with three walks and three strikeouts. White (0-1) tossed the 2.0 innings of relief for the Owls, allowing four hits and four runs, one earned, with no walks and two strikeouts while taking the loss.
