FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University won its final women's tennis match at home on Lancer Courts in Farmville, defeating North Carolina A&T of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) 7-0 Saturday afternoon. With the 6-0, 6-0 sweep at #3 singles, freshman Malin Allgurin|Värnamo, Sweden (Finnvedens Gymnasium) has earned a place in the record books, tying for ninth in Longwood history with 18 season wins. She has also extended her winning streak to 11 in a row. The Lancers (10-10) are scheduled to play Howard University of the MEAC on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m., in Washington, D.C.

Allgurin swept her #1 doubles match, too, with junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) 8-0. Shulman then won at #2 singles 6-1, 6-2. Junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) took the 6-2, 6-1 win at #1 singles as well as the 8-2 win at #2 doubles with sophomore partner Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley). Moomau defeated her #4 singles foe 6-1, 6-2, and sophomore Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) earned the point at #5 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Junior Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) paired with Parker at #3 doubles for the 8-1 win, while sophomore Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) swept at #6 singles 6-0, 6-0.
