Longwood scored its five runs on 12 hits, finishing the series with 23 runs and 39 hits over the three games. Newman (2-4, 2 RBI) got it started in the first inning as the lead-off batter when he hit a 2-0 pitch high and deep over the fence in left field for his third home run in two days. Newman now has a team-best seven homers this season. Lacy (2-4, RBI) followed with a one-out double down the right field line and later crossed the plate during a run-down play between first and second base as a teammate was caught stealing. Matt Dickason|Chesapeake (Indian River) (0-3, RBI) scored Mihalko who had opened the at-bat with a perfectly-placed bunt between the mound and third base. Lacy added a two-out double to the right field corner that plated freshman
Conner Hall|Mechanicsville (Atlee) (2-4) who had singled. The Retrievers added a final run in the eighth when Brian Klukowicz (3-4) singled and later scored courtesy a throwing error. Freshman
