FAIRFAX, Va. – Longwood University defeated George Mason University of the Colonial Athletic Association Saturday afternoon 7-0 in a women's tennis match in Fairfax, Virginia. Freshman Malin Allgurin|Värnamo, Sweden (Finnvedens Gymnasium) is experiencing an eight-match winning streak with her #3 singles victory 6-3, 6-1. The Lancers (8-9) travel to Towson, Maryland to face Towson University of the Colonial Athletic Association Sunday, April 1 at 10 a.m.

Allgurin also won her #1 doubles match with junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) 8-4. Shulman took a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 win at #2 singles. Also with doubles victories were the duo of junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) and sophomore Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) as well as junior-sophomore pair Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) and Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin). Pinyol and Moomau won 8-1 at #2 doubles, while Parker and Hill were 8-6 winners are #3. Pinyol also won 6-4, 6-2 at #1 singles, Moomau was victorious at #4 singles 6-2, 6-1, Parker took the #5 singles match 6-1, 6-1 and sophomore Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) played #6 singles, winning 6-3, 6-1.
