FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University lost 5-2 in a women's tennis match against visiting Radford University (13-5) of the Big South Conference on Lancer Courts in Farmville Thursday afternoon. Freshman Malin Allgurin|Värnamo, Sweden (Finnvedens Gymnasium) won the only singles match of the day at #3, winning the three-set match 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5). The Lancers (7-9) travel to George Mason University on Saturday, March 31 to face the Colonial Athletic Association member at 1:30 p.m.

Allgurin lost, however, 8-2 with junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) at #2 doubles. Longwood did win the doubles point, though, as junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) and sophomore Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) won 8-3 at #1, and junior Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) and sophomore partner Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) took an 8-6 victory at #3 doubles. Shulman dropped the #2 singles match 7-5, 6-2, and Pinyol fell 6-0, 6-2 at #1. Moomau and Hill lost at #4 and #5, respectively, by scores of 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-2. Parker suffered the #6 loss 6-1, 6-4.
