FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University swept a women's tennis match 7-0 against visiting Division II Virginia State University on Lancer Courts in Farmville Wednesday afternoon. With a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at #6 singles, sophomore Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) is on a three-match win streak. Longwood (5-8) will host North Carolina Central University of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Friday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m., on Lancer Courts in Farmville.

At #1 singles, junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) won 6-1, 6-3, and junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) won 6-2, 6-0 at #2 singles. Sophomore Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #3 singles, while junior Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) defeated her #4 opponent 6-2, 6-0. Sophomore Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) topped her #5 foe 6-0, 6-0 and also won 8-0 at #3 doubles with Hill. Pinyol and Moomau got an 8-3 win at #2 doubles, while Shulman paired with freshman Malin Allgurin|Värnamo, Sweden (Finnvedens Gymnasium) for an 8-0 sweep at #1 doubles.
