CLINTON, S.C. – Longwood University fell 4-3 in a close women's tennis road match at Presbyterian College of the Big South Conference on Tuesday afternoon in Clinton, South Carolina. Junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) and Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) won at #2 and #6 singles, respectively, as well as at #3 doubles together. The Lancers (4-8) host Virginia State in their next match on Wednesday, March 21 at 1 p.m. on Lancer Courts in Farmville.

Shulman's score in singles was 6-4, 7-5, and Law won 6-2, 6-3; their doubles score was 8-5. Junior Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) and sophomore Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) helped in earning the doubles point with an 8-4 win at #2. Hill fell, however, at #3 singles 7-6 (6), 6-3, while Parker played to a tough loss at #5 singles 7-6 (5), 7-5. Junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) dropped in three sets at #1 singles 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 as did sophomore Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at #3 singles. The duo dropped 8-4 at #1 doubles.
