RICHMOND, Va. – The Longwood Universtity women's tennis team lost 7-0 at Richmond Saturday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia. Junior Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) and sophomore Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) beat their #3 doubles opponents 8-5. Longwood is back in action Friday, February 24 at Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia for a 1 p.m. start.

Hill played at #5 singles, falling 6-2, 6-0, while Parker fought through three sets but lost the #6 singles match 6-4, 3-6, 10-4. Losing in the #1 slot was junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) 6-3, 6-4, and freshman Malin Allgurin|Värnamo, Sweden (Finnvedens Gymnasium) dropped the #2 singles match 6-0, 6-1. Allgurin played with junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) at #1 singles and lost 8-3, while Shulman went down 6-1, 6-0 at #3 singles. Pinyol played #2 doubles with sophomore Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) for an 8-4 defeat, while Moomau lost at #4 singles 7-5, 6-3.
