The Lancers scored in the third minute when Surkamp collected a loose ball in the penalty box and put it over the goalkeeper's head. The Lancers kept the pressure on the Wildcats over the next 10 minutes, attempting a pair of corner kicks and three shots, but could not break through again. Longwood led 1-0 at halftime and outshot Randolph 5-2 with a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks in the first half.
Crandall gave the Lancers the 2-0 lead in the 63rd minute when he dribbled in from the left side of the box and slipped the ball under the Randolph goalkeeper. Crandall kept the pressure on and attempted two more shots over the next seven minutes but missed high both times. Longwood outshot the Wildcats 5-0 in the second half and had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lancers outshot Randolph 10-2 and had a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks. Longwood was led by Surkamp with one goal and a match-high four shots while Crandall added one goal on three shots. The Wildcats were paced by Nick Cornell and Sam McGarrity with one shot each.
