FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood University women's tennis team defeated visiting Towson (1-1) 5-2 in Farmville on Lancer Courts Saturday afternoon. Senior

Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) paired up to win their doubles match 8-5 while also winning individually at No. 1 singles 6-2, 7-6 (8) and No. 2 singles 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, respectively. The Lancers (3-2) next travel to Boiling Springs, North Carolina to face Gardner-Webb at 10 a.m. and Mars Hill at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5.

Veronika Bohm|Hirschberg, Germany (Ludwig Frank) topped her opponent 6-2, 6-2, and sophomore
Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) won her No. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-4. Freshmen
Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Haneley) and
Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) dropped the No. 5 and 6 singles matches, respectively, by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles action, Shulman and Law won at No. 2 by a close 9-8 (8) mark, but sophomore
