FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University is hosting Davidson College of the Southern Conference for a women's basketball game on Friday, January 28, beginning at 7 p.m. at Willett Hall in Farmville. It will be the Pack the House Dorm Challenge, with residence halls on campus competing to have the most residents in attendance, as well as a tug-of-war contest at halftime. The Lancers (4-13) are coached by interim head coach
Bill Reinson and are led by senior
Krystal Garrison (11.2p) and junior
Brittanni Billups (11.2p). The Wildcats (8-10) are coached by first-year head coach Michele Savage and are led by Sophia Aleksandravicius (17.6p) and Laura Murray (11.3p). Davidson has won its past two games, both on the road. Longwood is coming off a 76-66 victory at UNC Asheville on Monday evening. Davidson leads the all-time series 2-0.

Longwood is coming off a 76-66 victory at UNC Asheville of the Big South Conference on Monday evening in Asheville, North Carolina. It was the first road victory of the season for the Lancers.
Krystal Garrison scored a career-high 25 points while
Emilee Dunton added career-bests with 13 points and six assists. Longwood used a 16-4 run in the second half to build a 67-58 lead and then went 7-for-8 from the foul line the rest of the way to secure the 76-66 victory.
Mina Jovanovic added 12 points and five assists while
Brittany Jones scored 10 points with five rebounds. Longwood had just 14 turnovers, its lowest since it turned the ball over 13 times against Wright State in December.

NCAA Pack The House Challenge
Longwood will participate in the NCAA “Pack the House Challenge” on January 28 vs. Davidson. The Longwood home game against Maryland was the “NCAA Pack The House Challenge” game for the 2009-10 season. A season-high 831 fans showed up for the game which helped the Lancers claim the 2009-10 NCAA “Pack the House” Challenge for Independent schools. The “Pack The House” initiative was developed by the NCAA to promote women's basketball. The Lancers claimed the “Pack The House” challenge among Independent programs during the 2007-08 season when 817 rowdy fans showed up to see Longwood top Radford 70-69.
