FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood University sophomore Nobu Tanaka/Potomac, Md. (St. John's College HS) has earned a spot in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Preseason Division I Men's Singles National Rankings. Tanaka, ranked 101st, is the first Longwood player to be ranked by the ITA at the Division I level.

Tanaka tied the single-season school record with 16 wins in dual matches as a freshman. He set the single-season winning percentage mark by going 16-3 (.842), including 10-3 at #3 and 5-0 at #4 last year.

Longwood opens its fall season on Friday, September 11, at the UNC Greensboro Invitational in Greensboro, North Carolina.
