CHAPEL HILL,  N.C. - Longwood University's field hockey team fell 6-0 at the  University of North Carolina, ranked second in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I  Coaches Poll, of the Atlantic Coast Conference on Sunday afternoon in Chapel  Hill, North Carolina. The Lancers (2-5) return to action on Sunday, September 27,  against Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference foe Davidson College at the  Athletics Complex at Farmville at 2 p.m..
UNC (9-0) had a 2-0 lead at  halftime after a pair of Melanie Brill goals, on in the 17th minute and one in  the 35th minute. The Tar Heels added four goals in the second half, including  three in the first seven minutes. Brill had two goals for the Tar Heels while  Katelyn Falgowski had one goal and two assists and Kelsey Kolojejchick had one  goal and one assist. 
“We came out with a plan  today and we executed in the first half,” said Longwood head coach 
Iain Byers.  “We struggled offensively but we stayed strong defensively in the beginning. We  learned a lot about playing disciplined hockey today.”
North Carolina outshot  Longwood 26-0 and had an 11-0 advantage on penalty corners. 
Erin Bollinger/Midlothian (Clover Hill) had seven  saves in 62 minutes while 
Amy Lewis/Lewisville, N.C  (Forsyth Country Day) had two saves in eight  minutes.
