Question and Answer session with David Robinson and Bethany Drury

BD: What is your pregame routine?
DR: My pregame routine involves pregame meal and then I go back to my room and get my socks. Every time, I get the same pair of socks. After that, I just lie in my bed, watch TV and relax.

BD: What are your goals for the season?
DR: There’s really only one goal and that is to win the Big South Tournament so we can go to the NCAA tournament.

BD: What is it like to be a veteran leader on this team?
DR: It can be challenging. Trying to be a leader and a friend at the same time can be tough. It’s also rewarding because it’s a good experience for later in life.

BD: Do you have any teammates, here or that have graduated, that you look up to?
DR: Mr. Antwan Carter. He’s a good example that if you work hard you can get what you want. He’s overseas right now, playing basketball, doing what he loves.

BD: Why did you choose to come to Longwood?
DR: It’s close to home, I like the coaching staff and I thought I had a good opportunity to contribute to the team here.

BD: What is your favorite Longwood tradition?
DR: Oktoberfest or Spring Weekend because of all of the bands and activities.

BD: Are you involved in anything else on campus?
DR: I’m involved in SAAC, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and I’m a part of the Lancer Leadership Program.

BD: Who is your favorite athlete?
DR:  Manu Ginóbili. He plays for the San Antonio Spurs. He’s from Argentina.

BD: What is your favorite movie?
DR: The newest Batman movie.

BD: What is your favorite song?
DR: Tearin’ Up my Heart by N’Sync.

BD: What is your favorite food?
DR: Definitely pizza.

BD: If you could have a song play every time you scored, what song would it be?
DR: Hammer Time.

BD: Do you have any advice for younger players?
DR: Just keep doing what you love, keep trying, work hard and hopefully your dreams will come true.

BD: What is your favorite thing about Longwood basketball?
DR: The family atmosphere. We’re all pretty close, good friends. We have good times.
