FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University senior women’s golf team member Ariel Witmer|North Lima, Ohio (South Range) is this week’s Longwood Female Athlete of the Week. She led the Lancers with her score of 76-72-71--219 that tied for eighth among the field of 103 at the Nittany Lion Invitational on September 28-30 hosted by Penn State University and played at the Penn State Blue Golf Course in University Park, Pennsylvania. Witmer posted a new collegiate-low score for 54 holes at the 6,229-yard, par 72 layout. Through two events and six rounds this fall, she is averaging 74.50 for the Lancers, and her 76.90 career average ranks third all-time.
