Baseball junior Alex Lewis hit .588 last week and extended his hitting streak to eight games while helping the Lancers take the series against Radford 2-1 and upend Norfolk State in midweek action.
Lewis went 10-for-17 at the plate with six RBI, four runs scored, two doubles and a home run as the Lancers (14-11, 3-3 Big South) defeated Radford 3-2 and 5-4 in the first two games of the series before falling, 6-5 in Sunday's finale. Lewis homered as part of a 3-for-3 performance in Saturday's win and followed with a 2-for-4 day Sunday that included a double, an RBI and a run.
The 6-0, 185-pound junior infielder capped his week with a monster effort, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, a double and a stolen base in an 11-9 win against Norfolk State.
On the year, Lewis is hitting a team-best .360 with 28 RBI, four homers and eight doubles, all team highs.
