FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University senior Tristan Carey/Colonial Beach has been named the Longwood Male Athlete of the Week. A fourth-year member of the men’s basketball team, he started the first two games of the season and helped the Lancers to a 1-1 start, including an 82-79 road win at TCU on November 12. The 6-4 guard led Longwood with his 31 points at TCU, making 7-12 three-pointers, adding six rebounds during the biggest win in program history, and first against a Big 12 member and BCS school. He had 12 points to lead the Lancers in their opener at South Carolina on Nov. 9, an 82-44 road loss. Through two games, Carey is averaging a team-best 21.5 points (9 3FGs), adding 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists.
