FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University field hockey freshman Vanessa Tapper/Virginia Beach has been named the Longwood Female Athlete of the Week. Tapper appeared in both games to help the Lancers to a 2-0 record in conference matches last week. On November 1, she scored her first career goals late in the second half to propel her squad to a 4-2, comeback victory at Appalachian State. The Lancers trailed, 2-0, with just five and a half minutes remaining in that contest before Tapper's first goal sparked the Lancers' offense and her second sealed the come-from-behind decision with less than three minutes to play. The forward garnered Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference (NorPac) East Division Rookie of the Week accolades for her efforts, as well.
