The Opening Tip
•    Longwood plays its second Big South road game of the season Wednesday at Presbyterian at 7 p.m. The Lancers own a two-game winning streak in the series, including a 71-67 win at the Templeton Center on Jan. 31, 2015.
•    Shaquille Johnson averaged 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game in three games against Presbyterian last season. He scored 25 points with 11 rebounds in the 65-61 win over the Blue Hose in the first round of the Big South Basketball Championship.
•    Longwood has held three straight opponents to 70 points or fewer, including back-to-back Big South opponents.
•    Four Longwood players are averaging double-digit scoring, and seven total Lancers are averaging at least 8.0 points per game.

Last Time Out
•    Gardner-Webb freshman Laquincy Rideau sank the game-winning free-throw with 8.3 seconds remaining to give Gardner-Webb a 67-66 win over Longwood Saturday afternoon in Willett Hall.
 •    With the score tied at 66-66 and 8.3 seconds remaining, Rideau missed his first free throw but connected on the second to give Gardner-Webb a one-point lead.
•    Longwood ran an inbounds play to Khris Lane with 1.2 seconds remaining, but his three-pointer from the corner bounced off the front of the rim.
•    Darrion Allen nearly played hero for Longwood, finishing with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double while scoring seven points in the final four minutes and tying the game twice. Lotanna Nwogbo also logged a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Shaquille Johnson scored 19.

By The Numbers
•    Longwood has held three straight opponents under .300  shooting from three-point range. Cairn (.273, 9-of-33), UNC Asheville (.217, 5-of-23) and Gardner-Webb (.143, 4-of-28) combined to shoot just .214 (18-of-84) from three-point range.
•    Longwood has forced 210 turnovers this season for the fourth most in the Big South. The Lancers, who led the Big South with 505 forced turnovers in 2014-15, have forced their last three opponents into an average of 16.8 turnovers per game.
•    Longwood averages 14.1 points per game off turnovers and has scored 20-plus points off turnovers in two of the past three games.
•    Junior Darrion Allen has scored in double figures in three straight games, the longest such stretch of his career. Allen scored 12 against Cairn, 13 against UNC Asheville and a season-high 18 against Gardner-Webb.
•    Allen added 10 rebounds to his 18-point performance against Gardner-Webb for his first career double-double. Allen's 60 rebounds are the sixth most of any guard in the Big South.
•    Allen is also the Big South leader in blocks among guards, making nine rejections. He ranks third in the conference with 1.8 steals per game.
•    Senior Shaquille Johnson leads Longwood with 27 assists since his return to the lineup seven games ago. He is averaging 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game during that span while shooting .583 (35-of-60) from the field.
•    Big South Preseason All-Conference center Lotanna Nwogbo has scored in double figures in 25 of his 33 games as a Lancer. He is averaging 13.4 points per game during his two seasons at Longwood, compared to just 1.9 points per game in two seasons at Tulane.
•    Nwogbo is one of only three players in the Big South averaging 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game, joining John Brown of High Point and Tyrell Nelson of Gardner-Webb.
