The Opening Tip•   Longwood returns to Willett Hall for the first time in nearly a month to take on UMBC Saturday at 5 p.m. That home game follows a six-game road stretch and will be Longwood's lone contest in Willett Hall until Dec. 28.
•   Longwood is 2-0 in Farmville this season, defeating Randolph and La Roche by a combined 44 points. Sophomore
Kanayo Obi-Rapu averaged 24.5 points per game during those two games, while
Khris Lane averaged 11.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.
•   Saturday's game will be the second of a doubleheader in Willett Hall, as the Lancer men follow the Longwood women's game which tips off at 2 p.m.
•   Longwood will host the K-9 Crew Frisbee Dog Team at halftime and will also give away Longwood tacky t-shirts to fans in attendance.
Last Time Out•   Led by a near triple-double from Big South Preseason Player of the Year John Brown, conference preseason favorite High Point took down Longwood 90-66 in the Big South opener Wednesday evening at the Millis Center.
 •   Brown's 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists came in a matchup of two of the top big men in the Big South, but it was High Point's supporting cast that made the difference.
•   Longwood center
Lotanna Nwogbo matched Brown's production with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, but it was High Point's depth that shined through. The Panthers got 16 points from Lorenzo Cugini and a combined 25 from the backcourt tandem of Anthony Lindnauer and Adam Weary.
•   High Point shot 11-of-19 from three-point range.
By The Numbers•   Longwood Big South Preseason All-Conference center
Lotanna Nwogbo is one of only three players in the Big South averaging at least 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. He joins High Point's John Brown and Winthrop's Xavier Cooks on that list.
•   Nwogbo ranks among the Big South's top 10 in points (15.6 ppg.), rebounds (7.0 rpg.) and blocks (1.3 bpg.) per game. He is one of only three conference players to appear on all three of those leaderboards (Brown, Cooks).
•   Nwogbo has scored in double figures in four straight games and is averaging 19.0 points per game during that stretch while averaging 10.3 free throw attempts per game.
•   Nwogbo owns both of the Big South's single-game free throw attempt marks this season, taking a career-high 18 in two separate contests against S.C. State (11/20) and High Point (12/2).
•   Freshman forward
Chris Shields is the Big South third-leading scorer off the bench, averaging 8.6 points per game. He has scored in double figures twice with both of those performances coming in his past three games. Shields is shooting .558 (27-of-43) from the floor in his first season.
•   Longwood is the top free throw shooting team in the Big South and the league's second-best three-point shooting squad, shooting .766 (141-of-184) from the charity stripe and .392 (60-of-153) from beyond the arc.
•   Longwood's roster includes one of the nation's leading three-point shooter in sophomore guardÂ
Kanayo Obi-Rapu, whose 27 treys ranks tied for sixth in the nation. Obi-Rapu ranks fourth nationally with a .500 three-point field goal percentage (minimum 50 attempts).
•   Obi-Rapu was recently named a nominee for the Allstate NABC Good Works Team for his work with the Josh Level Classic, a local pro-am game in the Triad whose mission is to raise funds and awareness for the purchase of AEDs in local schools.
