The Opening Tip
•    Coming off a 69-49 season-opening win over Randolph on Friday, Longwood hosts La Roche for its third straight home game. Longwood also took down Hampden-Sydney 71-68 in preseason exhibition action on Nov. 7.
•    Longwood is 1-0 to start the year for the second time in three seasons under head coach Jayson Gee. Longwood's last 2-0 start came during the 2000-01 season as the beginning of a 23-8 record.
•    Following the La Roche game, Longwood will play 10 of its next 11 games on the road, including a six-game road streak from Nov. 20-Dec. 2. Longwood's lone home contest during that 11-game span is against UMBC on Dec. 2.
•    Monday's game will be "Game of Thrones" Night in Willett Hall. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a limited edition "House of Willett" t-shirt.

Last Time Out
•    Redshirt sophomore Khris Lane introduced himself to the Longwood faithful by going off for 20 rebounds and 16 points to lead the Lancers to a 69-49 win over Randolph in the season-opener.
•    Lane, a Drexel transfer who sat out the entire 2014-15 season due to NCAA transfer rules, tied Longwood's single-game Division I rebounding record and recorded only the second 20-rebound game since Longwood went Division I in 2007-08.
•    Lane's double-double included eight offensive rebounds over a team-high 36 minutes.
•    Sophomore Kanayo Obi-Rapu scored a career-high 22 points on a night in which he set career highs in points, made field goals (8), three-point field goals (6) and minutes (33).
•    Longwood held Randolph to a .302 (16-of-53)  shooting clip from the field.

By The Numbers
•    In the preseason exhibition against Hampden-Sydney and the season opener against Randolph, Longwood's guards accounted for 63 percent of the team's scoring. The group, led by team scoring leader Kanayo Obi-Rapu (17.5 ppg.) and second-leading scorer Darrion Allen (13.5 ppg.), averaged 43.5 points per game during those two contests, compared to 26.5 from the frontcourt.
•    Both Obi-Rapu and Allen have scored in double figures in Longwood's first two games, including a career-high 22 points from Obi-Rapu in the 69-49 season-opening win against Randolph Friday.
•    Redshirt sophomore forward Khris Lane tied the school's Division I rebounding record in the season opener against Randolph, grabbing 20 boards as part of a double-double. The 20 rebounds made Lane only the second player in Longwood's nine-year Division I era to record a 20-rebound game and only the sixth player in school history to accomplish that feat.
•    Longwood has had a player record a double-double in both games to start the year. Darrion Allen went for 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the exhibition against Hampden-Sydney, while Khris Lane posted 16 points and 20 rebounds in the season opener against Randolph.
•    Darrion Allen has recorded at least three steals in back-to-back games and leads the team with seven. He swiped three in the exhibition against Hampden-Sydney and grabbed a career-high four in the opener against Randolph.
•    Longwood's bench is averaging 18.5 points per game through the first two contests.
•    Longwood head coach Jayson Gee received two National Letters of Intent on Signing Day, welcoming North Carolina PG Juan Munoz and Ohio G/F Isaiah Walton to the program. Munoz averaged 20.3 points and 5.3 assists as a junior at Panther Creek High School last season, while Walton redshirted his freshman season at UC Davis in 2014-15 and is currently playing at Iowa Western.
