Biography
2021: Bounced back from injury plagued junior season to anchor Longwood's defense... started all 15 games, racking up 30 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers...  recorded multiple ground balls in seven games... secured a season-high five ground balls against Elon... caused three turnovers on three separate occasions against George Washington, Elon, and Radford... secured four ground balls against both Radford and High Point.Â
2020: Limited to just two games due to injury…got minutes against Louisville and VCU.

2019: Promoted to the starting lineup as a sophomore, starting 16 of Longwood’s 17 games…totaled 13 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and one draw control…picked up at least one ground ball in each of the final five regular-season games…contributed to a Longwood defense that ranked third in the Big South with a 12.83 goals against average…also helped the Lancers to a second-place Big South finish that was bolstered by five consecutive wins to end the regular season.
2018 (Freshman): Led Longwood freshmen in games played (17), goals (5), assists (3) and points (8)...collected 10 ground balls caused a turnover and won 5 draws...had first multi-goal game against Presbyterian...had first multi-assist game at Campbell...scored first goal at William & Mary...scored in three straight games.
High School: A three-sport athlete at Brentsville District High School, Hannah Tirrell comes to Longwood after competing in volleyball, basketball and lacrosse…lettered twice in both volleyball and basketball, while lettering three times in lacrosse…was a form of team MVP her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons for the lacrosse team and was named Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore and junior…during those All-Conference campaigns, Tirrell scored a combined 55 goals, assisted on nine more, won 73 draw controls and collected 96 ground balls…comes to Longwood as an All-Academic Honor Roll student.
Personal: Daughter of Richard and Zara Tirrell…has two siblings, Caileigh and Linley…father, Richard, played lacrosse at Springfield College and her sister, Caileigh, is a goalkeeper at the University of Montevallo in Alabama…majoring in business administration and minoring in information systems and cyber security.
