Clark Boinis joined the Longwood athletics communications staff in the fall of 2022.

A native of Bethesda, MD, Boinis earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Media and Strategic Communication from Butler University in May of 2022.

"We are really excited to welcome Clark to our department," said Longwood Director of Athletics Communications Sam Hovan. "His drive and passion for storytelling will be a natural fit within our department. That ability to connect and tell stories stood out throughout the interview process, and I'm excited to work with him."

In 2022, Boinis worked as a Communications Intern for Indy Eleven, a professional soccer team in the USL Championship. He gained valuable
experience writing game previews and recaps, press releases, and feature stories for the club.

Boinis first got involved in collegiate athletics during his time at Butler, working for the athletic department throughout his four years in Indianapolis. In the Fall of 2021, he worked as a Marketing Intern, where his duties included graphic design, social media management, promotion planning, and more.

Before this, he assisted the ticketing department at games and worked in production for the live broadcast of Butler Athletics events.

Boinis is also an experienced play-by-play broadcaster, having called dozens of events for Butler ranging from football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball.

“I couldn’t be more excited to begin my career here in Farmville,” Boinis said. “Longwood’s recent success and national attention from its basketball teams make this an exciting time to be a Lancer, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to join the team.”

Boinis will be the main media contact for several sports at Longwood, including women’s basketball, field hockey, and softball.
