Carly Fullerton '07 joined the Longwood athletics department in 2008-09 and was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Health, Wellness and Performance in the summer of 2022. She serves as the department's Senior Woman Administrator and works closely with the Big South in that role, in addition to overseeing the department's sports medicine and sports performance staff.

In January 2021, Fullerton was elevated to Assistant Athletics Director/Sports Medicine after serving as Director of Sports Performance/Head Athletic Trainer beginning in August, 2016. Fullerton also served as Associate Head Athletic Trainer beginning in July, 2013, after working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer beginning in 2008.

Fullerton was previously was an intern/assistant athletic trainer at Presbyterian College during 2007-08. Fullerton had sport coverage for cross country, softball, volleyball, and cheerleading at Presbyterian where she also completed an internship during the spring semester of 2007. She has numerous athletic training experiences, including various camps at Hampden-Sydney College and Frostburg State University along with assisting at the Richmond Marathon and local Special Olympics competitions as well.

A native of Catharpin, Virginia, Fullerton earned her bachelor of science degree in physical education from Longwood with a concentration in athletic training. She was a four-year member of the Longwood Athletic Trainers’ Association and served as the organization’s treasurer during 2006-07. Fullerton earned her master of science degree in sports medicine from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama. She has National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) membership and BOC certification and is CPR/AED certified via the American Red Cross.
