Longwood University Athletics

2020-21: Enrolls at Longwood as a junior after playing the past season at NJCAA powerhouse Panola College…an athletic scoring guard with a tremendous shooting stroke and the ability to finish at the rim…has a well-documented basketball resume that includes a decorated high school career at North Forest High School in Houston, Texas and championship success at Panola…will be counted on to make an immediate impact in the backcourt in his first season at Longwood.
 
2019-20 (Panola College): The second-leading scorer for a Panola program that went 19-12 overall and climbed to as high as No. 11 in the NJCAA national rankings…averaged 13.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game…also logged a 1.2 assist-to-turnover ratio…started a team-high 30 of 31 games…shot .333 (63-of-189) from three-point range, .426 (127-of-298) from the field and .793 (88-of-111) from the charity stripe…scored in double figures in 21 of his 31 games, including seven 20-point outbursts…led Panola to a 7-0 record in those seven 20-point games…led Panola to an 85-84 upset win over NJCAA powerhouse South Plains by hitting a 35-foot game-winner at the buzzer to finish with 21 points and five rebounds (Nov. 15)…poured in a season-high 23 points against Bossier Parish, going 6-of-9 from the field and 8-of-8 from the free throw line to spark a 93-85 victory…posted a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double in a 91-78 win over Clarendon (Nov. 9)…had three 20-point performances in a stretch of four games from Jan. 15-29.
 
High School: A high-scoring guard at North Forest High School where he averaged at least 20.0 points per game all four years…as a junior, averaged a career-high 29.0 points per game en route to Texas All-State first-team recognition…also received all-district first-team honors…crowned champion of the Houston Coaches Association All-Star Game Dunk Contest as a senior…averaged 23.0 points per game as a senior.
 
Personal: Born Jermaine Deshone Drewey…son of Jermaine Drewey and Valinda Lewis…mother, Valinda Lewis, played professional basketball for the Houston Comets of the Women’s National Basketball Association…has four siblings, Terrisha, Melody, Myaunte and Iverson.
