Lucas Bianco comes to Longwood as an athletic trainer where he will oversee men’s basketball and men’s and women’s golf. Before coming to Longwood, Bianco served as the Director of Athletic Training Services at Georgia Southwestern State University for two years.
Bianco began his professional career as a Graduate Intern Athletic Trainer at UNLV from 2012-14 where he provided healthcare, treatment, rehabilitation and emergency care to student-athletes. He then moved to Lynchburg College as an Athletic Trainer for one season before his role at Georgia Southwestern State.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Lynchburg in 2012 before a Master of Science in kinesiology from UNLV in 2014. Bianco is currently in pursuit of a Doctorate in athletic training from the University of Idaho. Bianco is CPR and AED certified from the American Heart Association and has experience with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, VATA and FWATA.
