Yu-Jin Shim has served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Longwood since 2016 and works primarily with baseball. Shim came to Longwood after serving as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Brevard College from August 2012 through July 2016 where she worked with men’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, softball, volleyball and cross country.
Shim previously worked for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Summer Baseball League as well as UNCG. She served as the Intern Athletic Trainer for the Gatemen over the course of the 2011 summer, and was an Athletic Training Student from June 2010 until May 2012 for the Spartans.
She has spent time as a volunteer for the Pony Baseball League East Zone Tournament, Guilford Orthopedic and Sports Medicine and Page High School in Greensboro, N.C. Shim also has teaching experience with Anatomical Basis of Athletic Injury as well as Prevention and Emergency Care of Injuries. Shim is NATA BOC certified to go along with CPR and AED certified from the American Red Cross.
Shim received her Bachelor of Science in life sciences from Ewha University in Seoul, South Korea and earned her entry-level Master of Science in athletic training from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
