Ryan Miller joined the Longwood baseball staff in the summer of 2023.
Miller played for the Lancers for one season as a graduate transfer in the spring of 2023, and he was the Saturday starter for the team throughout the season. He made 13 appearances, all starts, and struck out 55 in 68.1 innings of work. The righthander held a 4.08 ERA while going 4-6 on the mound.
He threw the team's first complete game since 2019 in his final collegiate start, and he also earned the win over No. 14 Campbell, the highest ranked win in team history, on April 15.
Prior to Longwood, he pitched for Pittsburgh in 2022 after spending three seasons at North Carolina Central. While at NCCU, he was the MEAC Freshman of the Year in 2019 and the MEAC Pitcher of the Year in 2021. In addition, he was a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American in 2019 and a Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-American in 2021. The National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association had him as a Third Team All-American that same season.
At NCCU, he posted a 2.89 ERA with a 17-6 record with two complete game shutouts and one save. He struck out 183 in 168 innings of work there.
Miller grew up in Blandon, Pennsylvania, and he holds his bachelor's of science in recreation administration from NCCU. He graduated as an honor's student there. At Longwood, he earned his master's degree in business administration in July of 2023.
