Assistant Coach Anthony Crocitto

Anthony Crocitto is in his first year as the top assistant women’s basketball coach at Longwood University during 2007-08. Crocitto served as the assistant head coach at the University of Central Florida in Orlando this past season (2006-07) after a two-year stint (2004-06) as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

Crocitto brings 10 years of collegiate coach experience to his new position following previous stops, in addition to Central Florida and Hofstra, at Fairleigh Dickinson University (2002-04) in Teaneck, New Jersey, Mount Ida College (2001-02) in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, and Dowling College (1997-2001) in Oakdale, New York. He was the first assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson after head coaching positions at both Mount Ida and Dowling (1999-2001) where he also was the first assistant coach (1997-99). Crocitto has served as the recruiting coordinator at each of his previous collegiate coaching stops since 1997.

Crocitto coordinated a recruiting class at UCF that included three national rankings among the nation’s top 50, while also assisting with academic monitoring that led to a team GPA above 3.0 each semester. He helped accomplish the same team academic successes at Hofstra which finished 19-12 during 2005-06 en route to earning the school’s first post-season win in the WNIT. At Fairleigh Dickinson, Crocitto assisted the program to a fourth-place national academic ranking as FDU posted an NCAA Division I Top Ten turnaround season (2003-04) as well. During his tenure at Division II Dowling, he helped the school to at least 15 wins during three of four seasons after the program had won just 10 games combined the previous four years, and, was also an assistant baseball coach for two seasons (1999-2001).

Crocitto has additionally served as head basketball coach at Holy Child High School in Westbury, New York (1994-96), and as director and head coach for both St. Martin of Tours Basketball program in Amityville, New York (1989-96) and Amityville Warrior AAU Basketball (1993-96). He was head baseball coach at Walt Whitman High School in Huntington, New York (1994-96), La Salle Center in Oakdale, New York (1997-98), and at Bayport/Blue Point High School in Blue Point, New York (1998-2000). Crocitto has worked numerous summer camps during his career as both a coach and administrator/director.

A native of Amityville, New York, Crocitto is married to Kristin Crocitto and earned his bachelor of arts in management with a minor in psychology from Hofstra in 1995. He and Kristin, an elementary education teacher, reside in Farmville.
