
Doug Thibault is in his fifth year as an assistant coach for men's basketball at Longwood University during 2007-08. He previously was the head men’s basketball coach at Jamestown Community College in Olean, New York during 2001-02 where he was the nation’s youngest junior college head coach at age 25.
Thibault has been an integral part of the Longwood Basketball program running smoothly. His responsibilities include on and off campus recruiting, scheduling, coordination of team travel, opponent scouting and game plan preparation, player skill development, and assisting with practice preparation.
Thibault has also been an assistant coach at North Idaho College (2000-01), Howard (Texas) College (1999-2000), Washington (Tenn.) College Academy Prep School (1998-99), and at Treasure Valley (Ore.) Community College (1994-98).
Thibault has been involved with many successful seasons. These include the most conference wins in school history at Jamestown, the #1 team defense in the nation at Howard, a team ranked as high as #3 and Top 20 all year, a 28-3 record at Washington College Academy, including an 18-3 record as head coach of the undergraduate team, and a top 10 ranking in team defense for three-straight years at Treasure Valley.
A native of Eagle Point, Oregon, Thibault earned his bachelor of arts degree in political science from Boise State University in 1998.
