This site is dedicated to the Longwood University’s Field Hockey Alumni. It is fitting that we are creating this opportunity for the communication of information about the Field Hockey program with all past and present, players, coaches, parents and friends at this time as we look forward to yet another mile stone in the history of this wonderful game at Longwood

Nancy Joel Head Field Hockey Coach Longwood University I wish to extend a special thank you to all of you that joined us at the Rotunda rededication this past weekend. Sadly, the rainstorm that deluged Barlow Field just minutes before our festivities were scheduled to begin sent us all running for cover and safely. To ensure that the event was recorded our photo opportunity took place in the basement of French, where we found shelter from the storm. Our 22 alumni that attended to play this memorable game proudly donned Longwood uniforms once again, posed with the Longwood ROTC Color Guard, and our 2005 team members to record their attendance.
The recognition of the part Barlow field has played in the decades of success for the Longwood Field Hockey Program will now be incorporated into the events being planned for the opening of the new field hockey facility presently under construction on the Longwood Estate.
Our 2005 alumni team reflected 35 years of playing, 1970-2005. My special thanks to Melissa Miranda, Class of 1999, for organizing the team and cajoling them to attend on the day! In addition to the team I know that over 130 of you indicated through the Alumni Office your intention to support this special event on Barlow field. I thank you for that support and look forward to keeping you informed of our program events in the fall.
