Biography

Coach Byers on Wesser: “After a difficult few season with injury we are excited to have Sam coming back fully fit and ready to play this year.”

Junior (2008): Appeared in 20 games with eight starts ... attempted three shots with one shot on goal (.333).

Sophomore (2007): Appeared in 15 games, starting 13 ... attempted seven shots with six shots on goal (.857).

Freshman (2006): Appeared in 14 games, starting five ... scored one goal to finish with two points on the season ... one defensive save.

Before Longwood: Four-year member of the varsity field hockey team at Jamestown HS in Williamsburg ... First-Team All-District, All-Region and All-State during her junior and senior years ... Virginia Gazette Player of the Year her senior year ... also played three years of soccer.

Personal: Daughter of Chris Wesser and Sandra Brooks ... Honor Roll all four years in high school ... has traveled to Spain twice ... worked as a camp counselor and completed a 400 hour internship during summer 2009.

Major: Kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science.
