2020-21: A big, versatile guard who is among the most athletic players on Longwood's roster...plays the game with tremendous intensity and provides a high-energy presence on both ends of the floor...strong finisher at the rim who is adept at powering through contact.
2019-20: Emerged as a key contributor down the stretch as a true freshman, averaging 5.2 points per game over his final 16 contests…finished the season ranked third on the team in plus-minus rating and second among players with at least 300 minutes on the floor…led Longwood in plus-minus rating in two of the team’s final five games…averaged 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game…shot .474 (37-of-78) from the field and .308 (4-of-13) from three-point range…shot .791 (34-of-43) from the free throw line…drew his first career start against Big South rival Presbyterian on Jan. 16 and responded with 11 points, five rebounds and a perfect 4-of-4 shooting performance from the floor…that 11-point outburst was his second straight double-digit scoring game following the 11 points he scored against Hampton on Jan. 11…in an eight-game stretch from Jan. 2 to Jan. 25, shot .630 (17-of-27) from the floor and averaged 6.5 points per game, all in Big South play…had another scoring outburst over a four-game stretch from Feb. 6 to Feb. 13, during which he made multiple field goals in each game, shot .454 (10-of-22) from the floor and averaged 7.5 points per game.
High School: A four-year letterwinner at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School where he was a four-time all-conference selection and a three-sport athlete in basketball, track and soccer…averaged double-digit scoring and at least 2.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game all four years of high school…averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 assists and 8.0 rebounds per game as a junior…a two-time St. Andrew’s Honor Roll selection…an active volunteer with the non-profit Martha’s Table organization and the Perrywood Community Center Basketbal Camp.
Personal: Son of Sam and Nicholette Smith-Bligen…has three siblings, Keyon, Auset and Imani…mother and father, brother Keyon, and uncle Charlie all played college basketball…plans to major in business administration and own a business after the conclusion of his basketball career
