2016 Big South All-Academic Team

Career: Finished with a career 4.62 ERA with a 12-13 record in 89 appearances, making 14 starts, and nailing down seven saves ... racked up 177.1 innings in four seasons with 147 strikeouts and a career batting average against of .269.

2018: Key relief pitcher throughout career, began final season at Longwood as a starting pitcher ... made four starts in weekend rotation, the last a quality start with 6.0 innings pitched and one run allowed against Iona (3/10) ... made 22 appearances and posted a 5.47 ERA in 51.0 innings with 44 strikeouts and 30 walks, also collected team-high three saves... made eight scoreless appearances, six hitless appearances, and four perfect appearances.

2017: Tied for team high with 22 appearances, including two starts ... went 2-4 with a 4.15 ERA and collected two saves ... struck out career-high 45 batters in 43.1 innings ... posted career-best .222 batting average against ... made five outings out of the bullpen that lasted at least 3.0 innings ... recorded 10 scoreless appearances and five hitless outings ... put together stretch of 11.2 scoreless outings across five appearances from February 19 through March 8 ... owned 1.00 ERA through first eight appearances, allowing two runs, both earned, in first 18.0 innings of the season.

2016: Tied for team high with 25 appearances, two of which were starts ... named to the Big South All-Academic team ... posted a 3.00 ERA and 4-0 record in 51.0 innings pitched with 31 strikeouts to 17 walks ... finished with a pair of saves and pitched a team-high 42.2 innings out of the bullpen ... in 23 relief outings posted a 2.34 ERA with 25 strikeouts to 12 walks ... didn’t allow an earned run out of the bullpen from 3/5 through 4/30 (12 relief outings) ... had a streak of 12.0 scoreless innings over five appearances from 3/12 through 3/25 ... went at least 3.0 innings out of the bullpen six times, including 4.1 innings of relief against Liberty in the Big South Championship (5/25).

2015: Made 20 appearances as a freshman with five starts … finished with a 3-2 record and a 6.47 ERA in 32 innings pitched … struck out 27 batters and allowed one home run in 130 ABs … got the win against Army (5/1) and allowed two runs in 5.1 innings on two hits with four strikeouts and one walk … struck out a career-high six batters in a losing effort at VCU (3/25) … had three outings out of the bullpen with one complete inning and no hits allowed.

High School: Three-time letterman in baseball at Oakdale High (Md.) … Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches All-District 1, MSABC West Region Team, all-county and all-conference honors junior and senior seasons  … went 4-2 with a 2.26 ERA in senior year while recording 40 strikeouts in 36 innings.

Personal: Born Michael David Catlin on April 16, 1996 ... son of Dave and Theresa Catlin… has one sibling, Andrew… father, Dave, swam at Clemson.
