FARMVILLE, Va. – Charleston Southern baseball stayed hot at Longwood's expense on Sunday afternoon.

The Buccaneers (28-19, 12-9 Big South) outslugged Longwood (28-23, 10-11 Big South) 21-3 to sweep the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Charleston Southern struck first in the first inning with an RBI double by Alex Marot to take a 1-0 lead.

Longwood answered though by loading the bases with no outs. Tre Keels was hit by a pitch to score one and tie it, and
Jack McMullan poked an RBI single to center field for a 2-1 lead.

However, CSU answered with back-to-back-to-back singles in the second that led to three runs and a 4-2 lead, and a two-run double by Caden Wolfley in the third made it 7-2.

Longwood's
Ben Pulliam cut it to 8-3 with a solo home run in the fifth, his third home run of the season, but Charleston Southern's offense turned into an avalanche in the sixth and put the game out of reach.

Matt Gallant (6-0) earned the win after tossing 4.2 innings in the seven-inning affair. He struck out three while walking three and giving up seven hits that led to three runs.

Wyatt Bunch (3-1) took the loss for Longwood he gave up four runs, two earned, on five hits in 1.2 innings of work.
