TAKOMA PARK, Md. — The Longwood women's tennis team beat Howard, 4-2, on the road Wednesday on the Tacoma Park Tennis Courts.
Howard (1-8) claimed the doubles point to start the day as Chloe Goins and Dana Hall defeated Genevieve Dickey and Elizaveta Gnilozubova, 6-0, on court three and Franchesa Brown and Lauren Oliver topped Alexandra Magia and Feline van Eijkelenbyrg, 6-3, at No. 2.
Longwood (7-6) bounced back in singles, however.
The Lancers got a win from Bali Song at No. 1 over Imani Jean, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2. At No. 2, van Eijkelenburg defeated Brown, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2. Nicole Di Bisceglia beat Oliver, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 and Magia beat Hall 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4.
Alexis Broderick won by default at No. 6.
Longwood is back in action Saturday hosting Gardner-Webb at 11 a.m.
