THE OPENING TIP
•    Longwood plays three of its next four on the road, beginning on Thursday night at USC Upstate.
•    The matchup at USC Upstate wraps up the first half of Big South play for the Lancers.
•    The Lancers have won back-to-back Big South games for the first time this season, and the team is tied with Presbyterian for third in the league standings.
•    Elijah Tucker is the Big South Player of the Week, the first weekly award-winner for Longwood this season. He scored 21 points in both wins for Longwood last week.
•    Tucker is one of  four players averaging double figures in scoring for Longwood, and he leads the team at 12.7 points per game.
•    Jacoi Hutchinson (12.1 ppg), Redd Thompson, Jr. (10.7 ppg) and Johan Nziemi (10.6 ppg) all average in double figures as well.
•    Longwood's offense is third in the Big South in points and field goal percentage in league games.
•    The Lancers also were selected for the Big South Wildcard on ESPNU for the team's matchup against UNC Asheville on Thursday, February 12. It will be the fifth time that Longwood has hosted ESPNU.
 
LAST TIME OUT
•    Longwood had four players score in double figures in a thrilling overtime win over Charleston Southern 81-79.
•    Even as four starters scored in double figures, key reserve Jaylen Benard hit the go-ahead bucket for the Lancers with nine seconds to go in overitme.
•    Benard tracked down a long rebound and went coast to coast to give the Lancers an 80-79 lead, and Elijah Tucker stole the ball on CSU's ensuing possession to help preserve the win.
•    Tucker led Longwood with 21 points and nine rebounds while tying a career high with three steals.
•    Johan Nziemi added 17 points and a career-best four steals, and the Lancers had a season-best 16 steals as a team.
•    Jacoi Hutchinson chipped in 12 points and six rebounds, and Emanuel Richards added 11 points.
•    That was enough to overcome 30 points and nine assists from A'lahn Sumler and 20 points for Brycen Blaine for Charleston Southern.

•    Longwood is unbeaten at home in the Big South and is one of only three teams who has yet to lose in conference action at home, along with Winthrop and High Point.
•    This season, Longwood is 1-1 in games that extend beyond regulation after the 81-79 win over Charleston Southern in overtime.
•    Longwood had Elijah Tucker and Johan Nziemi combine for nearly half the team's points as the duo scored 38 of the team's 81 in the win over Charleston Southern.

•    The Lancer defense also has snared league-best nine steals per game in seven conference games. The Lancer defense also is second in turnovers forced per game at 13.7.
•    Longwood had a season-high 16 steals against Charleston Southern and forced the Bucs into a season-high 22 turnovers.

•    The Lancers won in Farmville in the first matchup, 80-54, behind a suffocating second-half effort on defense where the team held USC Upstate to seven made shots.
•    In the matchup at USC Upstate, the Lancers led for the majority of the contest on the final day of the regular season, and six players scored in double figures in the 83-66 win.
