Redd Thompson Jr. powered a Longwood rally that came up just short at Radford on Saturday in an 85-83 loss.
• The sophomore scored 16 of his team-leading 21 points after halftime as the Lancers erased on 18-point hole and tied the game at 83 on his three with 15 seconds left.
• However, Del Jones scored a buzzer-beating layup to give Radford the win. He had a game high 25 points.

Elijah Tucker came up big on the glass for Longwood with his third double-double of the season with 17 points and 16 rebounds. The 16 boards tied a career high.

Jacoi Hutchinson and
Johan Nziemi chipped in with 10 points and five assists apiece.
• Radford shot better than 60 percent in the first half to build a big lead, and Longwood returned the favor after halftime to whittle the advantage away.
