FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood men's and women's cross country coach Brooke Craig released the fall schedule for the Lancer cross country teams today.
 
The Lancers will hose a pair of events as a part of the five-race schedule in the buildup to the Big South Championship at the end of October.
 
The teams open the season at the Spider Alumni Open on August 30 out in Richmond. Longwood has had great success at the event in the past, setting a variety of team records for both the men and the women.
 
On September 6, the team will have its home opener at the Lancer Home Open. Two weeks later, the two teams will host the Lancer Pink Invite on September 20.
 
In October, the Lancers will be on the road twice, with trips to Lehigh for the Paul Short Run on October3 and USC Upstate for the Upstate Invite on October 18.
 
The trip to Spartanburg for the Upstate Invite will wrap up the regular season as the Lancers will be in the Big South Championship on October 31. The teams will attempt to build on a strong finish last season that saw them both either tie or set their best finishes in the league with their best average team times.
 
The season will conclude at the NCAA Southeast Regional on November 14.
