RICHMOND, Va. – Longwood baseball fell behind early, and then the VCU offense snowballed the game to take down the Lancers (8-17) 19-2 in seven innings on Tuesday night at The Diamond.
Jacob Lee led the Rams (5-19) with a six RBI day as the home side put up 13 hits.
For the Lancers,
Jae'dan Carter and
Mac Tufts drove in a run, but the Lancers couldn't get on track after the early start from VCU.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
VCU took advantage of Lancer mistakes in the first that extended the inning to jump out to an early 3-0 lead. Trent Adelman hit a two-run homer to cap the scoring.
However, it was the second inning that turned the tide. VCU plated 10 runs in an offensive onslaught to put the game effectively out of reach.
Longwood finally got on the board in the fourth thanks to RBI singles from Carter and Tufts, but the VCU bullpen tightened up after that point.
Nick Frers (1-1) picked up the win for VCU. He held Longwood to one hit in three scoreless innings while giving up one walk against two strikeouts.
Ethan Plesser (0-2) took the loss for Longwood. The lefthander gave up eight runs, but only three were earned, on three hits and two walks.
UP NEXT:
