DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Longwood women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Davidson on Sunday in non-conference action.
The Wildcats (10-3) began the match by winning the doubles point on courts one and two. Kavya Patel and Daniela Porges defeated
Karina Rizvanova and
Elizaveta Gnilozubova, 6-1, prior to Savanna Kollock and Bryson Langford topping
Feline van Eijkelenburg and
Alexandra Magia, 6-4.
Davidson went on to win singles matches on courts three, two and four, respectively, to clinch the dual. First, Langford took down
Phoebe Mitchell, 6-3, 6-3. Next, Kollock beat Rizvanova, 6-2, 6-3 and finally, Ellie Hammond got by
Oriana Izarra, 6-4, 6-2.
The Lancers fell to 5-6 overall with the loss.
Longwood returns to action Wednesday at 2 p.m., facing Radford in Big South play on the road.
