THE OPENING TIP
•   Longwood hits the road and heads to UNC Asheville as one of three remaining regular season games on Saturday for the Lancers.
•   The Lancers moved into fifth in the Big South with the win over Gardner-Webb, although third through seventh in the league standings are separated by two games with three to play.
•   Longwood is one game behind Radford after splitting the season series with the Highlanders, and the team also split with Charleston Southern (half game back) and Gardner-Webb (one game back), who are right behind them in the standings.

LAST TIME OUT
•   Longwood snapped a five-game losing streak with a 90-77 win over Gardner-webb behind a complete team effort.
•   Despite still battling the injury bug, Longwood had 22 assists, the most they've had in a Big South game this season.
•   Six players scored in double figures as well, and Longwood shot better than 50 percent from the floor.

Kyrell Luc posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists.
Colby Garland led the team with 19 points, and
Michael Christmas chipped in 18 points and seven rebounds.
Angelo Brizzi also added 10 points.

Elijah Tucker had 10 points as well.

•   Longwood has six players averaging at least eight points per game in the team's 13 Big South games.
•   The Lancers had six players score in double figures in the win over Gardner-Webb.
•   It was the second time this season the Lancers have had at least six players score 10 or more.
•   As a result, Longwood poured in 90 points, the third time this season the team has scored at least 90 points. The other two games came against non-Division I teams.
•   At 78.6 points per game, Longwood is averaging the most points per game as a team in the
Griff Aldrich era and nearly three points per game than the previous high of 75.8, set in 2021-22.
•   It is the highest scoring average of the past two decades, and the most since the team averaged 88 points per game in the 2000-01 season.
•   Longwood shot better than 50 percent from the floor against Gardner-Webb (.586, 34-58), the 10th time this season shooting 50 percent or better in a game.
•   The Lancers are 7-3 in such games.

Kyrell Luc had 16 points and 10 assists, the second time this season Longwood has had a guard post a double-double with points and assists.
Colby Garland also achieved the feat with a 19-point, 11-assist effort at SMU on December 29.
•   For Luc, it was his second double-double of the season. His first came with an 11-point, 10-rebound effort against UNC Asheville on January 8.
•   The Lancers also won the rebounding battle against Gardner-Webb and are 14-0 when winning on the glass this season.
•   Longwood is at 190 in the latest NCAA Net Ranking, fourth in the Big South. The league has five teams in the top 200.
