FARMVILLE, Va. — Fourth-year Longwood women's basketball head coach Erika Lang-Montgomery announced the signing of three prep standouts to national letters of intent in the NCAA's early signing period on Wednesday.
Joining the Lancers as freshmen for the 2026-27 season are forward McKenna Hoyt and guards Maddy Little and Samia Snead.
"We're excited to welcome McKenna, Samia and Maddy to the Lancer family and can't wait to see their impact on and off the court," Lang-Montgomery said.
McKenna Hoyt

Hoyt comes to Farmville from Stamford Central High School in Stamford, N.Y., where she has lettered in four sports for the Indians, including basketball, soccer tennis and softball. She holds the school record for career points, which currently stands at 1,622, and has grabbed 1,000 rebounds.
As a sophomore in 2023-24, Hoyt averaged 26 points, 15.5 rebounds, four steals and 3.9 assists per game, the best numbers of her three seasons to date.
A four-year team captain, Hoyt was named first team all- state as a junior as she scored 21.8 points and grabbed 13.5 rebounds per game. She also dished 4.7 assists and collected 3.8 steals per game.
Hoyt has not scored fewer than 20 points per game in her scholastic career.
"McKenna brings a great combination of size, touch and competitiveness to our front court," Lang-Montgomery said. "Her energy, character and team-first mentality align with everything we value in our program. She's eager to learn, embraces hard work and will thrive in the environment we're building here."
Maddy Little

Taft School (Conn.)
Little, an Ithaca, N.Y., native, plays at The Taft School in Watertown, Conn. She has been a team captain and a New England Preparatory School Athletic Council All-Star.
As a junior, Little scored 17.3 points and corralled 4.7 boards per game, while also recording better than three assists and steals per game.
"Maddy is a versatile guard who plays with great poise and grit," Lang-Montgomery said. "She can score in a variety of ways and takes pride in doing the little things that help her team win. From the beginning, it was clear Maddy embodies the toughness, character and work ethic we value in our program."
Samia Snead

Osbourn Park
A northern Virginia product, Snead has led Osbourn Park High School to no fewer than seven championships, including a 2025 state title to go with three district and region championships, as well.
Snead is a two-time team captain while also two all-state citations and two first team all-region and all-district selections each.
A point guard, she averaged 7.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, two steals and two assists per game last season.
"We are excited to keep Samia in our home state," Lang-Montgomery said. "She is an elite student-athlete with a 4.0 GPA. She played a major part in her high school winning a state championship this past season. She is an explosive combo guard and three-level scorer that will bring intensity and energy to our defensive efforts. Samia will be a great ambassador for our program."
