FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood cross country will host the fourth annual
Lancer Summer Open 5K on Saturday, August 10.
The 5K provides local runners an opportunity to test themselves on the challenging home course of Longwood cross country. The course, which is located on Johnston Drive across from the Longwood Athletic Complex, features scenic, rolling hills on the site of the former Longwood Golf Course.
The race begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 10. Check-in runs from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., and awards will be presented at 10:30 a.m.
The event is open to the public for the in-person 5K, and walkers are welcome. Dogs are also permitted, but strollers are not due to the rough terrain of the course. A "virtual mile" walk or run option is also available.

- Regular registration: $25 (Deadline July 21)
- Late registration: $30 (Deadline August 9)

For the virtual mile, the registration cost is $25 with an event t-shirt or $10 without.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Longwood cross country program.
