FARMVILLE, VA. - UNC Asheville evened up the series Saturday afternoon with Longwood. The Bulldogs (18-22) used a home run in the eighth from Robbie Burnett to knot the series up with the Lancers (19-23) in game two.
Tanner Thomas paced the Lancers with two hits while the pitching staff combined for 12 strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
UNC Asheville struck first in the top half of the second and third inning to take a 2-0 lead.
The Bulldogs got a great pitching performance from starter Colby Guy. He went 5.2 innings and kept the Lancers off the base paths for the most part throughout his outing.
Longwood brought the game within one in the bottom of the sixth, when
Drew Camp hit his fourth home run of the season. His blast cut the score in half, and the Lancers trailed 2-1 through six.
The seventh inning Longwood worked multiple free passes to load the bases.
Noah Campanelli drew a walk of his own to tie the game at two.
In the eighth Robbie Burnett blasted his 15th long ball of the season to give Asheville the lead.
Justin Honeycutt continued his outing in the bottom half of the eighth and ninth, keeping the Lancers off the board to pick up the win for Asheville.
Ethan Walker (1-4) threw 5.1 innings for Longwood striking out six, but took the loss for Longwood, as Justin Honeycutt (2-1) picked up the win.
