HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â
Longwood struck first when McDonald opened the scoring less than a minute into the game for her 51
st goal of the season.
Â
However, Connally answered for High Point, and Miles scored back-to-back goals to cap a 4-0 run midway through the first quarter.
Â
The Lancers rallied, with
Holly Hill, Tucci and McDonald all muscling home goals to knot the score at four all.
Â
Connally and Miles again had the response, with the duo combining for three goals to close the first quarter for a lead that High Point never relinquished.
Â
The Panther defense didn't let Longwood's offense get on track after that point, as the Lancers had 19 turnovers on the night. Meanwhile, HPU's offense pulled away.
