Longwood Lacrosse Falls 21-8 At High Point

Tucci Posts Hat Trick, but Miles, Connally Counter with Four Goals Each for HPU

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Wednesday night, Longwood lacrosse kept it tight early, but High Point used a big second quarter to pull away. The Panthers (11-5, 7-1 Big South) used eight goals total from Jordan Miles and Allie Connally to take down Longwood (7-9, 4-3 Big South) 21-8.

Ariana Tucci muscled in three goals for the Lancers, and Riley McDonald added two more, but the High Point defense made life tough.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Longwood struck first when McDonald opened the scoring less than a minute into the game for her 51st goal of the season.

However, Connally answered for High Point, and Miles scored back-to-back goals to cap a 4-0 run midway through the first quarter.

The Lancers rallied, with Holly Hill, Tucci and McDonald all muscling home goals to knot the score at four all.

Connally and Miles again had the response, with the duo combining for three goals to close the first quarter for a lead that High Point never relinquished.

The Panther defense didn't let Longwood's offense get on track after that point, as the Lancers had 19 turnovers on the night. Meanwhile, HPU's offense pulled away.

UP NEXT:
