FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood men's tennis team claimed its third consecutive dual match victory with a 7-0 sweep of Chowan at the Lancer Courts on Thursday.
 
Longwood took doubles getting match wins from the Nos. 1 and 2 pairs. First, the top tandem of Timéo Puech and Luis Reis defeated Marcel Ungerboeck and Nikola Cvetanovic, 6-1. Then, No. 2 Petar Belosevic and Alejandro Uribe dispatched Cristobal Fuentes and Gabriel Gomes, 6-3. Seva Rusin and Lorenzo Meschini won by default as Chowan did not have a third pair.
 
In singles, Belosevic beat Cvetanovic, 6-2, 6-2, on court two, Uribe beat Fuentes, 6-3, 6-4, on court three and Puech topped Ungerboeck, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 1.
 
Reis then defeated Alvaro Juscamaita, 6-2, 6-0, at five and Meschini beat Gomes, 6-1, 7-6, on court four. Rusin won by default at six.
 
With the win, the Lancers improve to 3-2 while Cowan drops to 0-2.
 
Longwood is back in action March 8 hosting Campbell at 2 p.m.
