HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Lancer back line was able to limit Bellarmine (3-9, 1-4 MAC) to only one shot in the first half.

Meanwhile, the Lancer offense outshot Bellarmine 9-5 on the day and outcornered Bellarmine 9-3.

Prieri powered home her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the second quarter for a 1-0 lead.

The Lancers controlled the third period, outshooting Bellarming 5-1 and picking up four corners.

While the pressure didn't pay off in that segment, the Lancers paid off the extended pressure in the fourth period when Wildy drove home a goal from
Ireland McDermott and
Hunter-Paige Johnson for a 2-0 lead.

Bellarmine's Anna Crump, off a feed from Annie Malloy, cut the lead to 2-1, but the Lancers fended off any other threats for the road MAC win.

WHAT THEY SAID:

"We did a really good job as a team implementing what we worked on this week in practice," said Longwood Head Coach
Miranda Rigg. "We created more opportunities for ourselves, now we just need to capitalize on a few more. Overall, I'm proud of the bounce back from the group, and it was good to get a road win!"
